社会心理学では環境配慮型ライフスタイルへの行動変容のための心理学的アプローチのなかでも,具体的な行動の変更プランを与えて判断のプロンプトを示したり,生活行動から発生する排出量で行動結果を提示する行動評価アプローチの有効性が指摘されている.本研究ではこの枠組みを交通行動に適用し,行動評価アプローチの交通や環境に対する態度と交通行動の変容効果を持続性(行動が継続する期間),強度(一定の期間での選択率),選択性(行動変容の生起)の観点から明らかにした.また,グループダイナミックスの知見をもとにした集団意思決定法を交通行動の態度変容,行動変容委についてもその有効性について検討した.実験対象は,大阪大学生協の職員351名で,行動評価アプローチ群,集団決定群,統制群の3群にわけて,実験を行った.その結果,統制群は2時点間で移動により発生する二酸化炭素排出量はほとんど変化がみられなかったが,行動評価アプローチ群は約13%の削減,集団決定法群は約20%の削減がみられた.これらの削減効果は,検定の結果,1%で有意な差であった.また,予定行動理論の概念モデルを適用して,共分散構造分析を行ったところ,同概念モデルの妥当性が確認された.そのモデルから,集団決定法は,他者行動知覚が活性化され,行動意図,実行意図,行動変容に結びついたことが明らかになった.今後,道路整備や公共交通のサービス改善のような構造的方略だけではなく,個人にアプローチが可能な場合は行動評価アプローチを,集団を扱うことができるのであれば,集団決定法を用いることによって,効果的に環境負荷の小さな交通行動に導くことができる可能性が示唆された.
