项目摘要

琉球方言に属する奄美諸島方言の親族名称やヒト代名詞は本土日本語と、いくつかの点で異なっている。親族名称の中でも大きな違いとして、「男称」male speaking-「女称」female speakingという、標準語ほかにみられない軸にそった対立の存在が挙げられる。この対立は、古代日本語にその存在が指摘されることがある。昨夏の調査でも、奄美大島方言で基本的にこの軸を保持していることが確認できた。同島大和浜方言に関しては、この軸にかかわる親族名称に、語構成の点で複合名詞として現れる二次的な単位が指摘されている。そして、奄美大島方言に見られる、親族名称の意味内容の変動も、本土日本語と一致していない。ははおやを指し示す単語に時代差があって、同じ単語が母親をさしたり、祖母をさしたりすることがある。この現象も確認できた。一方、奄美諸島方言のヒト代名詞に関しては、標準語や本土方言の多くとは違って、一般言語学的にみて、むしろふつうのヒト代名詞体系と異ならない、と松本はみている。奄美大島方言では、1人称複数にミウチ形exclusiveとミウチ-アイテ形inclusiveの対立が今回の調査で見られなかった。陳露は中国語における人を指し示すコトバについで調査した。共通語の指示代名詞の核となる「〓」「那」に指示対象と話し手の間における「モノとヒト」の関係のみを反映しているので、指示詞運用においては、話し手と他者の間における「ヒトとヒト」の関係は指示詞選択に殆ど反映されずにその人称代名詞の意図的な使用または回避によって反映されると考えられる。一方、粤方言に一人称代名詞に排除式と包括式の区別がないとされているが、粤方言の下位区分にある広西の博白方言「地老話」では一人称代名詞に排除式と包括式の使い分けが見られた。また、同地域における親族語彙の使用も、自分の両親を「オジサン」「オバサン」または「オニーサン」「アニヨメサン」と呼ぶ人がいるなどその多様性が見られた。
