九月に来日したので、まだ半年しか経っていないが、その間に主に三つのことをやって来た。一、『源氏物語』国際会議に関して:11月7日〜8日に、韓国外国語大学校に行われた第二回『源氏物語』国際会議、12月6日〜7日に大阪大学主催の「海外における源氏物語の世界翻訳と研究」に講師として出席し、中国における源氏の翻訳、研究の現状を紹介し、翻訳の可能性、翻訳テキストによる研究の可能性について参加者たちと議論を交わした。二、平安の物語と漢文学についての比較研究:『源氏物語』における六条御息所の造型と伝奇小説「霍小玉伝」との関係、『伊勢物語』の「昔男」と宗玉の人物像との関係などについての発見を、11月1日の東京大学国語国文学会主催の「日本研究 受容と発信」で発表した。なお、光源氏と藤壺の密通事件を内外の資料に照らし、それはほかならぬ朱雀朝に対する謀反であることを論証し、『日本古代文学と東アジア』と題する論文集に掲載されることになっている。三、漢文説話についての調査:12月20日〜23日沖縄に調査に行き、沖縄に豊富な説話、物語資料が存在していることを発見した。ただ、それらの多くはまだ写本の状態で、まだすぐに研究と結びつくことはできないが、それを整理していく過程において、新しい発見が期待できる。3月19日〜23日にベトナムの漢喃研究所に保存されている漢文資料の調査に行くことになっている。なお。『今昔物語集』の中国語訳注は予定どおり進行している。ベトナムにおける調査で何かの新発見が出来れば、訳注に補足していきたいと考えている。
