平成15年度から平成17年度にかけて、のべ一年問のフィールド調査により、インドネシア・ジャカルタ並びにメダン、スラバヤを中心として、華人対策制度および、法律関係書の収集をおこない、その策定、運用について、関係者に対する聞き取り調査を重ねた。その調査結果に基づいて、日本、インドネシア双方における先行研究のサーヴェイをあわせ、歴史的検証をおこなった。そうして、1966年から1998年のスハルト体制下における対華人政策をふくむ、チナ問題政策についての全貌を明らかにした。その研究成果は以下のように、公表した。平成16年度において、東南アジア史学会冬季大会にて「スハルト政権下における華人問題の変遷」として、平成17年度には、ICAS4(第4回アジア研究者国際会議・中国上海にて開催)においてThe Author of the Chinese policy in Indonesiaを発表し、さらに、2005年10月東南アジア史学会関東地区例会においては「スハルト体制の対華人政策-内務省編-」、2005年11月第111回SEAF研究会(SOUTHEAST ASIA FORUM)においては「スハルト体制下、内務省の対華人政策」として研究成果を公表した。2006年4月にはAAS(アジア研究協会)年次総会(於サンフランシスコ)にてThe Indonesian Chinese Problem under the Home Affairsを発表し、その一部については、「チナ問題政策の総設計者-スハルト体制下の政策立案委員会設立-」という題名で『東南アジア研究』に投稿済みである。なお、以上全体の成果は、2006年三月京都大学大学院アジアアフリカ地域研究研究科に提出した博士論文、「スハルト体制とチナ問題」にまとめ、修了した。
