项目摘要

本研究課題は、先秦期に成書された文献について、その成書時期・地域について解明する事を目的とする研究の一環であり、その中で儒家文献を対象として研究を行うものである。本研究では、文献の編年を行う際の手法として、N-gram方式に基づく文字列の収集・集計を行い、それを統計的手法・他の文献との比較という手法を通じて文献の編年を行っている。本手法を使用した研究をこれまで数本公開しているが、本年度までの研究の過程で、N-gram方式を用いた集計結果を統計的手法を用いて分析する事で、文献毎や個別の文献の篇毎のグループ化に関する一定の傾向を得る事が出来ると結論する事が出来た。しかし、その傾向をどう評価するかについては、別問題である事も明らかとなった。特に、より多くの文献の編年がなされていない現状では、統計的手法のみを安易に使用する事は危険である。そのために、現状では統計的手法を用いての分析は、文献や編著者のグループ化(それをどう分析するかは別にして)を主要な目的としている。上記問題点に対し、統計的手法で見出されたグループや他の文献との比較を、語彙・句法の比較を通じて該当文献の編年を行うという、歴史言語学的な手法を併用する事でその解決を試みた。本手法は昨年度から試みているものであるが、統計的手法で見出した傾向が、何時の時代・地域に当てはまる(場合がある)のかについて調査するには、本方法は有効であると認識した次第である。本年度は、最終研究年度であり、上記手法による知見の蓄積と、本研究の主要分析対象である『禮記』の編年を主要な目的としたが、その中で指標となるべき文献として、『周禮』を対象に分析を行った研究を行った。結果、『周禮』は前三世紀中葉〜秦統一以前に齊地で成書されたとする結論を得た。また『周禮』の研究を遂行する過程で、『禮記』の何篇かに関する成書時期や地域にを明らかにする事が出来た。
