本研究は、領主と村落、教会の関係に着目しながら近世ヨーロッパ東部の社会秩序の特質を明らかにすることを目的としている。この目的の達成のため、本研究では(1)ハンガリー北東部を中心とした事例研究と、(2)時代的・地域的な比較検討が課題として設定された。最終年度にあたる平成17年度には、(1)に関して、ハンガリー及びオーストリアにおける史料収集と分析を終えるとともに、(2)に関して、事例研究の成果の比較検討を目的としてイギリスに滞在し、研究会報告と意見交換を行った。(1)ハンガリー北東部の地域社会に関する史料収集:平成17年11月から平成18年1月にかけてハンガリー国立文書館、オーストリア国立文書館等で北東部二州(ボルショド州、ゲメル州)の領主裁判と村落裁判、貴族州裁判に関連する史料の調査を継続した。この結果、上記両州における裁判関連文書の主要な部分の通覧を終え、収集を完了することができた。また、当初予定していた時代を超えて、18世紀以降の史資料収集にも着手することができた。(2)地域的・時代的比較のための意見交換:昨年度から継続して平成17年6月までオックスフォード大学に滞在し、地域的・時代的な比較検討のための史資料の収集を行った。また、東中欧史セミナー等に参加して中欧地域の近世史研究者との交流、意見交換を行い、ハンガリー周辺各国の研究動向に関する情報収集に努めた。同セミナーでは、'Keeping the peace of the manor : manor court and villages in early seventeenth-century Hungary'と題して報告の機会をもつことができ、現在そこでの意見交換の結果を踏まえた論文投稿を準備中である。
