日常,人々はしばしばストレスフルな出来事に直面し,不快感情を体験する。こうした不快感情時には,「不快経験ばかりを想起し,それにより一層不快気分を喚起される」という悪循環に陥ってしまうことも多いだろう。このように,「感情と一致する情報が処理されやすい」ことを「気分一致効果」と言う。しかし不快気分時に誰もがこうした悪循環に陥るとは限らない。不快気分時にも快記憶を積極的に想起し,悪循環を回避できる場合もあるだろう(気分不一致効果)。本研究では,従来の研究では考慮されてこなかった自己知識の構造という認知的要因によって,これら2つの現象を統合的に説明することを目的としている。ただし,自己知識の構造に関しても十分に明らかにされているとは言い難い。そこで前年度までに自己知識の構造を検討し,自己知識が複数の領域から構成されていることを明らかにした(榊,査読中;Sakaki, submittting-a)。更に,本年度は気分一致効果と気分不一致効果に関して検討を行った。その結果,(a)感情を喚起された状況と関連する領域から記憶を想起した場合には気分一致効果が見られること,(b)状況とは無関連な領域から記憶を想起する場合には気分不一致効果が生じることが示された。従って,自己知識の領域によって気分一致効果と気分不一致効果の生起が規定されていると考えられる(榊,印刷中a ; Sakaki, submitting-b)。更に,自己知識の領域構造の人差に注目し,自己知識が複雑な構造を持つ人は,自己知識が単純な構造を持つ人に比べて,気分不一致効果を利用できないことを示した(Sakaki,2004;榊,印刷中b)。以上の成果より,気分一致効果と気分不一致効果という矛盾する現象は,自己知識の構造によって統合的に捉えられると考えられる。これらの研究は国内外の学会,学術雑誌において発表された。
