The simulation of dynamical systems is focused since many years on the development of novel time stepping schemes and the application on structural mechanical problems such as rigid bodies, beams and shells. In the preliminary project we developed the basics for the solution of the whole space-time cylinder, which allows us - to solve highly efficiently in parallel, - to apply local, adaptive refinements in the space-time cylinder, - to solve problems, only accessible using unacceptable small time steps, if even possible, and - to develop new methodologies for the analysis of dynamic situations. In this project, we aim the application of the developed methodology on classical problems in the sense of continuum degenerated Cosserat media and solve them efficiently in a space-time mesh. This will reveal a completely novel approach for structural mechanical systems, with investigations on the overall properties and applicability on industrial simulations. Such partially extremely cumbersome simulations as we have conducted together with the Audi AG on fast moving parts in electric engines requires not only a very expansive equipment, but also a considerable amount of energy, which is in the current situation a central subject in research.
