研究年度2年目でかつ最終年度である今年度は、研究のとりまとめ作業を行うことを念頭におきつつ、研究課題に照応する資料収集を継続するとともに、収集資料の分析を本格的に進めた。まず、資料収集については、埼玉県立文書館(埼玉銀行寄贈史料)、川越市立図書館などにおいて、銀行規制・大蔵省銀行検査に関わる資料や銀行側のそれへの対応に関わる資料及び銀行経営者の回顧録・談話等を収集した。あわせて、国立国会図書館、東京大学経済学部図書館、日本銀行金融研究所アーカイブなどで、関連する資料・書籍の収集も行った。とりわけ、研究のとりまとめ作業において必要不可欠と思われた大蔵省銀行検査体制の形成の背景状況に関わる資料等の収集に重点をおいた。これらの収集資料等を素材として、分析を進めた。その結果、例えば、1915年前後における銀行規制・大蔵省銀行検査の形成の背景状況として、遠因としての日清戦後金融恐慌、日露戦後金融恐慌、直接的契機としての1914年金融恐慌と第一次世界大戦の勃発と日本のそれへの参戦が指摘できることなどを、実証的に明らかにした。ちなみに、日露戦後金融恐慌や1914年金融恐慌の実態を正面から実証的に取り上げた先行研究は、管見の限り、存在しないように思われる。2年間の分析結果をもとに、戦前期の銀行規制・信用監督を実証的に明らかにすることを企図した論文「プルーデンス規制と不良債権問題-1915〜45年、日本の銀行規制の分析」をとりまとめた。研究のとりまとめ作業の中で、銀行規制の効果についても分析のメスを加え、銀行経営健全化と不良債権問題の質的改善の方向への誘導、不良債権処理の進展の誘導、小銀行の減少を通じる金融システム安定の確保といった点を指摘した。なお、金融学会歴史部会(2005年6月11日、於麗澤大学東京研究センター)において、研究報告を行っている。
