项目摘要

本年度前半には自身の研究テーマと所属するCOEプログラムとの関連から、スティーブン・L・カプランらが編集し、18世紀から現代にいたるフランスのコルポラティスムを論じたLa France, malade du corporatisme? XVIIIe-XXe siecleの書評論文を執筆した。同書は、近代フランスにおいて個人と国家からなる二元的秩序が構想され、それが共和主義の政治文化の基盤とされた結果、現在も集団や結社を秩序維持の中心に据えるコルポラティスムに対する拒否感が根強く残っていることを指摘する。書評論文では、近代化・共和主義・社会集団の観点から同書の意義を評価するとともに、筆者の専門領域の観点から、フランス革命の意義と近世社団国家の位置づけについて疑問を提示した。後半には、昨年度および本年度に収集した史料を用いて、論文「18世紀前半におけるリヨン絹織物工業ギルドの秩序と社会の変容」を執筆した。本論文では、ギルドの社会的流動性・閉鎖性を論じた先行研究に対して、史料を用いて社会秩序の変更過程を明らかにするとともに、親方登録者数の変動を統計分析することで、批判的に検討し修正を試みた。リヨン絹織物工業ギルドにおいては、18世紀半ばに職人から親方への上昇過程に制度的変更が加えられた。その結果、親方の息子による親方身分の継承が困難になった。したがって、社会的閉鎖性の実態はギルドの外部に対する閉鎖性の強化ではなく、内部の階層秩序の変更によって親方織工とその息子が周縁化されていく過程としてあったと論じた。本論で明らかにできたことは、19世紀前半のリヨンにおける織工の蜂起や結社の形成を契機とする近代フランスにおける労働争議の進展について、フランス革命以前の社会関係の変化をふまえた長期的展望を可能にするものであると考える。本論の成果をふまえて、今後フランスにおける市民社会と結社に関する研究を深化させたい。
