これまで申請者は、我が国の年中行事儀礼である「三月上巳祓」と「重陽節」について研究を進めてきた。これらは中国大陸の宮廷祭祀や民間祭祀を起源とし、遣隋使や遣唐使などの様々な交流を通して我が国に導入されている。このことは、既に先行研究によって指摘されているところである。それらの祭祀儀礼は、導入後に我が国の習俗にあわせて様々に変化している。導入の原形はどういうものだったのか、いつ頃から儀式書に記載される形態になったのか、我が国独自の習俗を加味した特徴があるが、それと同時に、絶え間なく導入される大陸文化を吸収して、新たに伝来した習俗を付加させた形式があるのではないか。これらの疑問を明らかにすべく、上記の儀式において研究を進めた。たとえば、三月上巳祓の場合、平安中期ころに唐で盛んに行われていた「青踏」のごとき「逍遥」が行われていたと考えられる点は注目される。本研究は、特に雑令規定の節日における大陸伝来儀式の導入状況を中心に、様々に変遷した朝廷祭祀を改めて見直し、その実態と認識を少しでも明かにしたいと考えてはじめたものである。そこで、平成15年度は「三月上巳節(三月三日)」と「重陽節(九月九日)」について研究を進め、三月上巳節が、伝来初期の姿にわが国独自の習俗を交え、さらに平安期の遣唐使を通じて唐の風習を新たに加味している点を指摘した。また、重陽節については、平成16年度も継続して研究し、わが国における節会の停廃・復旧の時期について考察した。その他の節会については、「正月七日・十六日節」についての研究に取り組んでいるところである。
