项目摘要

今年度に行った研究実績の概要を列記する。(1)国分寺の瓦に強い影響を与えた平城宮・京出土の瓦の検討をおこなった。特に、平城宮大極殿院・東院、国分総寺である東大寺、国分総尼寺である法華寺の瓦について詳細に検討した。平城宮大極殿院・東院については軒瓦だけでなく道具瓦や丸・平瓦も含めた総合的な研究を行った。東大寺については、これまで未公表であった東大寺転害門の資料を使って新たな知見を得た。法華寺については、阿弥陀浄土院庭園との関わりの中でその所用瓦磚について研究した。その成果の一部はすでに今年度に公表しており、更に投稿済みの論文が数本あり、平成16年度に掲載される予定である。(2)平城京から他地域へ瓦笵が移動した例として知られている、唐招提寺金堂創建軒瓦と丹波国分寺の同笵瓦を研究した。この同笵瓦は平城京の西大寺、西隆寺、法華寺や、山城高麗寺からも出土しているが、これらをすべて実見し、笵傷進行や製作技法の詳細な検討を行った。その結果、従来、平城京にいた工人が丹波へ移動したとされてきたが、工人は移動していないと結論づけた。この成果については研究会で口頭発表を行い、論文としても投稿する予定である。(3)紀伊や淡路国分寺に影響を与えた興福寺の瓦を検討した。その過程で、古代の瓦生産・供給体制との比較研究のため、鎌倉時代の興福寺出土瓦についても検討し、いくつかの新たな知見を得た。その成果は既に論文として投稿済みで、平成16年度に掲載される予定である。
