项目摘要

今年度は、まず昨年度から行っている資料調査の一環として、「日本インターナショナル建築会」(以下、「建築会」とする)の「外国会員」の資料が残されたヨーロッパの資料館(ベルリンのAKADEMIE DERKUNST、ウィーンのOsterreichisches Museum fur angewandte Kunst、ロッテルダムのNetherlands Architectural Instituteなど)を訪問し、「建築会」から送られた「外国会員」への書簡などを確認した。その結果、「建築会」が外国会員を募集する際、東京で「建築会」主催の国際建築展を開催すること(実現せず)を目的として会員になるよう呼びかけていたことが明らかとなった。また、本野精吾が設計した旧鶴巻邸および旧大橋邸に残された、本野のデザインによる室内デザインや家具についての現物調査を行った。その結果、建築はモダニズムの方法を実現しているが、室内デザインや家具においては、ウィーン分離派やアールデコ、古典主義などの影響を受けた、装飾を伴ったやや古風な意匠が展開されていることを確認した。最後に2年間の本研究についてのまとめの考察を行った。戦前の関西のモダニズム建築の伝播には、建築運動団体が大きな役割を果たしたと言える。「建築会」は、ヨーロッパの建築運動との直接的な関わりを持ち、会員として高等教育機関の教員や官公庁に在籍する技師などが数多く在籍していたため、その影響は大きかった。また東京の「分離派」や「創宇社」、あるいは「デザム」を率いた西山卯三らの影響を受けて、京都に「白路社」や「鉄扉社」という無名の技術者による建築運動団体も存在した。こうした建築運動団体は、独自の雑誌や展覧会などのメディアを駆使した。それによって「建築会」は海外との直接的な関わりを可能にし、「建築会」の機関誌となっていた雑誌『デザイン』から「鉄扉社」が誕生するなど、複数の建築運動が関連することにもなった。関西の内外で複数の建築運動団体の活動が、互いに関連し合いながらモダニズム建築の伝播に貢献したことを確認できた。

The construction movement is independent and the exhibition is open. The "Construction Association" is directly related to overseas development, and the "Construction Association" is related to the "Iron Society". The activities of a number of architectural movement groups in Kansai are related to each other and confirmed.
