项目摘要

本年度は、研究課題である認識論(知識の哲学)に関わる学術論文一本が学会誌に掲載され、もう一本もまた雑誌に掲載予定であるという点で、目に見える成果を十分にあげることができた。具体的な内容に即して述べるならば、まず第一に、懐疑論的な議論を知識に関する一種の反実在論(あるいは認識論的ニヒリズム)として捉えたうえで、知識を自然種であるとする立場(知識の自然種論)からそうした反実在論を批判し、知識の自然種論という立場がさちに多くの認識論上の問題を解決しうる豊かなリサーチプログラムであるということを論じた。そして、第二に、直観の認識論的な身分に関わる問題に関して、反省的均衡の方法論的妥当性をめぐる議論においてそれがどのように位置づけられるのかを明確に示し、「認知的分業」の観点からこの問題を解決するという提案を行った。すなわち、直観や理論的枠組みは、おおよそ生得的・文化的バイアスによって個人や集団ごとに大きな偏倚を示すものであるが、にもかかわらず認知が個入に閉じるのではなく共同的営為である限りにおいて、認知ないしは探究は、全体としては十分と言えるような合理性を発揮することができるのだ、ということを明らかにしたわけである。上述の知識の自然種論からはまた、生物種や人工物に関する存在論的あるいは科学哲学的問題を引き出すことができたので、これに関する研究も進行中である。
