本研究の目的は、人間の触覚情報処理に基づいた触図・触地図のためのガイドラインを提案するとともに、ガイドラインに基づいた新しい触図および触地図の作成法の提案にある。触図や触地図は行動弱者である、視覚障害者の独歩に役立つ、情報呈示システムの一つであり、地図に触覚的な加工を加えたものである。利用者は触ることで触図および触地図を読むことが可能である。しかし現在では触図や触地図の作成に対するガイドラインや、制作に有効な手法は皆無であり、制作方法や触図や触地図の形状は制作者の独自の判断によるところが大きい。そのため、既存の触図や触地図は有効に活用されていない。本研究ではこれまで人間の触覚情報処理に関するさまざまな基礎実験を重ねてきた。それらの基礎実験から得られたデータを基に、触図・触地図のガイドラインの提案を行った。ガイドラインの提案は下記の学会にて行った。またガイドラインは下記のURLにて閲覧が可能である。また、本年度はガイドラインの普及のための啓蒙活動にも特に力を入れた。【成果発表】・Misa Grace Kwok, Guidelines for Tactile Figures and Maps, GOTHI' 05, Canada, 2005.10・Misa Grace Kwok, Tadahiko Fukuda, Guidelines for Tactile Figures and Maps, HCII'05,USA,2005.7・Kwok, Misa Grace, 福田忠彦,触図・触地図作成ガイドラインに基づく触地図の試作,日本人間工学会第46回大会,東京,2005.6他【ホームページ】http://www.barrierfree.gr.jp/
