最終年度である今年は、思いがけない大きな発見があった。由緒ある某文庫より、天皇の日常生活を記した史料(近世写本)が発見され、発見者のご好意により、マイクロフィルム焼付写真を閲覧、調査の機会が与えられた。その結果、同史料は摂関期にかかるものであると結論したが、これは発見者の精緻な研究とも一致する見解であった(詳細は発見者により公表される予定)。この結果、本研究で追求してきた朝干飯御膳の全貌がついに判明することとなった。なお、この調査に先立ち、今年度は慶応大学魚菜文庫所蔵の厨事類記も写真版を入手して調査していた。一方、別の史料より、8・9世紀の天皇の日常的座具に階段がついていたことが判明、天皇をとりまく室礼が予想以上に中国的であることが知られた。また、古代における食事用の座具に座る際の作法が、少なくとも中世の後醍醐天皇まで引き継がれていたことも確認できた。以上と並行して、調理機関である内膳司を中国の調理機関と比較すべく検討し、日本の令制官司体系が、中国と異なり、天皇に直接的に仕える構造となっていたこと、その変化の時期が9世紀末一10世紀初頭であることを明らかにできた。これは食事の変化と一致するものであった。官僚システムもまた、同時期に変容していたのである(現在、雑誌に2分割して投稿中)。こうした成果をもとに、今年度は博士論文を執筆し、2006年11.月に東京大学に提出、これにより翌年2月に博士号を授与された。この博士論文は、今後、本研究の成果をさらにとりいれ、2008年2月に東京大学出版会より刊行される予定である。また2009年には、本研究の内容を一般読者向けに書き下ろした選書が、大手出版社より刊行されることが決定している。本研究の成果を広く公開する機会にしたい。

I presented it to the University of Tokyo in November 2006. I gave it to you in February 2006. This doctoral thesis will be published at the Tokyo University Press in February 2008. In 2009, the content of this study was decided by the general public. The results of this research are open to the public.
