Total Research on the direction of development about the treatment of criminals in the community in the era of changing of law on the rehabilitation for them

本研究的目的是（1）从理论和实证两方面研究社区罪犯待遇（2）规划社区罪犯改造基本法案的起草。关于目的（1）我们出版了《刑事司法立法研究小组》一书（编辑），关于罪犯改造制度的改革的未来（Gendai Shinbun sha，2007年）。我们还就罪犯改造制度进行了工作，并发表了公众意见，以便对法务省和国会的立法产生影响。关于目标（2），我们制定了罪犯社区改造基本法草案。这篇文章将于2008年夏天发表在龙谷大学犯罪矫正和康复研究中心的期刊上。

The Aims of this Research were (1) researching the treatment of criminals in the community theoretically and empirically (2) planning the draft of the basic Act of the rehabilitation of criminals in the community.Concerning the aim (1) we have published the book, Study group on the legislation of criminal justice (ed.), The future for the reform of the rehabilitation system for criminals (Gendai Shinbun sha, 2007).We have also worked and expressed the public comments on the rehabilitation system for criminals in order to have an effect on the legislation in the Ministry of Justice and in the Diet.Concerning the aim (2) we have made the draft of the basic Act of the rehabilitation of criminals in the community. This will be published on the Ryukoku Univ. Journal of the research center for correction and rehabilitation for criminals in summer 2008.
