(1) Graph-theoretic modeling of self-organizing sensor networks: We have constructed ad hoc radio networks including sensor networks with the following properties. (a) Dynamic networks can be treated. (b) This model has a hierarchical structure (duster structure) which enables us to network scalability. (c) Broadcasting which is one of the most fundamental operations in sensor networks can be done efficiently(2) Extensions of the model for self-organized sensor network Based on the model stated in(1), we have made some extensions as follows(a) We have extended the dynamicity of networks such that merge and separation of several networks can be treated. (b) We have extended the architecture of sensor network model so that not only broadcasting but also point-to-point communication can be done efficiently(3) Development of efficient algorithms for basic operations on distributed sensor fusion: The architecture of self-organized sensor networks is improved such that broadcasting and gathe … More ring which are basic operations for sensor fusion can be processed efficiently and optimal broadcasting and gathering algorithms are developed on the improved sensor networks.(4) Development of self-stabilizing algorithms for self-organized sensor networks : We have developed self-stabilizing algorithms for sensor networks with duster structure and have shown that the sensor network can be autonomously recovered from transient faults.(5) Improvement of theoretical results for ad hoc radio networks : We have improved previous results on ad hoc radio networks, that is, we have shown the following results. (a) For the acknowledged broadcasting problem, for which it is proved that there does not exist any algorithm generally, we have given some practical sufficient condition for which there exists an algorithm and shown a time-optimal algorithm for this problem.
