1. We think the information delivery system of foreign law is infrastructure for a global society. From this viewpoint we made research on construction of the information delivery system of foreign law in Japan.2. The following has been revealed from our study. (1) Each legal sector, such as courts, administrative agencies, law firms, and academic libraries, is actively collecting the information of foreign law. But, the information retained by those sectors is not linked with each other. This makes it difficult for the public, especially for foreigners, to access the information of foreign law. (2) In Europe some research institute for foreign law comparative law, for example Max-Plank Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, are establishment as the center of the network of information service providers. However, mainly for economic reason, the establishment of such an institute has an extremely low feasibility rating in Japan. (3) Under this premise, it is the most feasible measures to establish a network among legal sectors.3. As a first step to establish a legal network, we tried to build a website named "Foreign Law Information Network" (this website will be opened later this year).
