Ten years in a row, those who commit suicide in Japan are exceeding 30,000 people. This suicide rate changes extremely high in the advanced country.We reported by this research that a quantitative lack of the sleep and an irregular sleep custom might increase risks of a suicide attempt / the suicide impulse directly or indirectly.At first, from image analysis we reported on the relation between the suicidal impulsive and the multiple infarction of the base nucleus in vascular dementia, and the atrophy of the left frontal lobe in the Alzheimer type dementia.Next, we investigated the re-rate of suicide for a suicide attempter transported to the emergency room.In the background of the suicide attempt, the psychological problem reflected the times, the environment problem, psychosocial problem, the cultural psychopathology and the problem of relations in the family are related to crosswire complicatedly.After the evaluation of psycbiatric state and grasp the background factor of suicide, w … More e reported it is necessity to do a long-term case management for the suicide attempter.Moreover, about the characteristic of the suicide attempt patients of mood disorders, schizophrenia and the middle aged and elderly patients, they had many cases to choose a fatal expensive suicide attempt.From the study in depression and senior patients, we pointed out a strong relation between the suicide attempt / impulse and the past history of mood disorder, sleep disorder and an alcoholic abuse / depended, and a brain organic factor, the atrophy of a left front-temporal lobe in particular.We examined the problem of the serotonin system thought about at first.
