项目摘要

本年度は、昨年度の研究成果の一部として「ブラジルにおける日本語教育の新たな潮流-ブラジル社会に開かれた日本語教育へ-」(『岡山大学文学部紀要』第47号、2007年7月)をまとめた。ブラジルにおける日本語教育に関する調査は、これまで国際交流基金・国際協力事業団(JICA)によるマクロレベルでの調査と、ブラジル国内にある日系団体などによるミクロレベルでの調査が数度行われている。それらを通観し、特に1990年代後半以降目覚しい公教育機関における日本語学習者(その大半が非日系)の増加、それと連動して主に日系団体が経営する日本語学校において見られる、非日系学習者・成人学習者の増加、学習者および教師の世代交代、国語教科書から外国人向け・現地学習者向け日本語教科書への移行の実態を述べた。また、研究発表「ブラジル日系人にとっての「コロニア語」-ブラジル日系移民社会における言語接触の背景から-」(日本語教育史研究会、2008年3月22日、早稲田大学)では、ブラジル日系人らが「コロニア語」と呼ぶポルトガル語からの大量の借用語を含んだ方言交じりの日本語が形成された背景を、移民社会における言語接触の観点から考察し、1950年代に「コロニア語」と命名されるに至った歴史的背景と経緯を日系知識人らによる「コロニア語」の記述から分析、60年代における日系子弟のためにコロニア語で書かれたいわゆるコロニア版日本語教科書「にっぽんご」の作成と、その後、70年代、日本の日本語教育者らによって批判され日本語教育から「コロニア語」が排斥されていった経緯を通時的に示し、ブラジルの日本語教育をめぐる問題を論じる際、教授言語としての「コロニア語」の意味を再考する必要性と、移民社会における日本語の位置づけを考える重要性を指摘した。
