项目摘要

本研究では,複数話者が存在するような実環境下での外国語音声聴取能力の評価手法を提案することを目的とし,複数音声を同時提示した場合における目標音声検出(聴覚探索課題)の速さと正確さを聴覚心理実験により検討している.昨年度に行った日本語音声の聴覚探索実験の結果の一般性を検討するために,本年度は,英語音声の聴取能力に着目し,英語音声とその時間反転音声を用いた聴覚探索実験を行った.被験者として日本語母語とする英語学習者を用い,聴覚探索実験の結果における海外滞在歴・英語検定試験の成績・英語学習歴の影響を検討した.聴覚探索実験を行う前に単独音声の識別実験を行い,すべての被験者が正確に英語音声と時間反転音声を識別できることを確認した.探索実験ではほとんどの被験者において時間反転音声存在下では英語音声を低い誤答率で検出可能であり,音声数の増加によって検出に要する時間が大きく増加する傾向は見られなかった.このことは,ある程度以上の期間英語を学習すれば,英語音声の聴覚探索課題において類似の成績が見られることを示唆する.また,海外滞在歴の影響を検討するために,長期海外滞在歴のある被験者とない被験者に分けて分析を行ったが,探索課題成績に明確な違いは見られなかった.次に,従来の英語検定試験の成績と本研究で提案している聴覚探索課題の成績の関係について相関関数を用いて検討したが,有意な相関は見られなかった.さらに,英語学習歴(年数)と聴覚探索課題の成績の関係について相関関数を用いて検討したところ,音声数が4および5の場合に,誤答率が学習歴とともに有意に減少する傾向が見られた.学習歴とともに誤答率が減少する傾向は昨年度の日本語音声実験においても同様に見られた傾向であり,本研究で提案した複数話者存在下での音声聴取能力評価法が妥当である可能性を示唆する一つの結果であると考えられる.
