本研究では、途上国の側から汚染産業の移転が環境クズネッツ曲線に与えた影響を検討した。中でも、東アジア諸国に焦点をあて、日本及び米国と東アジア諸国との間における、汚染産業(鉄鋼・化学・窯業等)の貿易が、東アジア諸国の環境クズネッツ曲線に与えた影響を分析した。具体的には、1988年〜2000年における東アジア10カ国のCO_2排出量を、貿易依存度、製造業比率、環境汚染産業の対日米貿易を用いて推計した。分析の結果、東アジアから日本への環境汚染財の輸出増、及び製造業比率が、東アジアのCO_2排出量の増加につながることが分かった。一方、汚染産業の対米貿易は東アジアの環境クズネッツ曲線に対する影響は見られなかった。この研究の成果は、松浦克己・広島大学教授との共著として、2006年度には、口頭で大阪市立大学経済学会特別研究会で報告され、Journal of the Korean Economyという査読付雑誌に掲載された。なお、このほかに、貿易とは直接関係はないものの、環境問題に関連する研究として、環境に関連するニュースが、国内企業の株価にどのような影響を与えるのか、という研究も同時に平行して行った。その内容は、長山昌平・東京大学大学院工学系研究科修士課程在籍、及び、友澤孝則・東京大学大学院工学系研究科修士課程在籍との共著として、口頭では、Asia-Pacific Economic Association 2006年年次総会、日本経済学会2006年秋季大会で発表され、一部は査読付雑誌(レターズ)のEconomics Bulletinに掲載された。残りの分析については、別の英文査読誌に投稿中である。一方、2006年度初めに予定していた、東アジアの貿易に関する分析を拡張した研究-(1)CO_2以外の環境汚染指標(SO_2,NO_x, BODなど)についても成立するかどうか、あるいは(2)東アジア諸国の環境汚染問題が、欧州諸国との貿易関係によって影響されるのかどうか-については、上記の活動のため、進展が遅れており、2006年度中には成果が出ていないことをお詫びを含めて報告する。

This study discusses the impact of pollution industry migration on the environment. China, Japan and the United States are the focus of attention, and pollution industries (iron and steel, chemical, kiln, etc.) are analyzed. The specific data include CO_2 emission, trade dependence, manufacturing ratio, environmental pollution industry and rice trade in 10 countries from 1988 to 2000. The results of the analysis show that the export of environmental pollution in Japan has increased, and the ratio of manufacturing industry has increased. The increase of CO_2 emission in Japan has also increased. On the one hand, the impact of pollution industry on trade and environmental protection curve is obvious. The results of this research were published in the Journal of the Korean Economy in 2006. The research on the direct relationship between trade and environment is conducted in parallel with the research on the impact of domestic enterprises on the environment.
