项目摘要

昨年度にひきつづき、東寺百合文書・教王護国寺文書所収の造営関連史料から建築用語を収集した。今年度は、東寺百合文書イ函からキ函について、目録および写真帳をもとに造営関係史料を集め、建築用語をデータベースソフトに入力した。収集した史料は、造営方散用状、材木方・鍛冶方の切符などを中心とし、時代は、鎌倉期から安土桃山期にわたる。入力したデータ数は1700件である。建築用語は、史料記載にしたがって入力を進めた。ただし、史料の用語は当時の通称であり、そのままでは意味が通じにくい箇所もあった。そこで、特に、品名については史料名とは別に、物品名を補って、入力作業をおこなった。例えば、材木については断面寸法のみで表示する例が多いが、このまま入力すると検索時に材木として認められない。同様に、釘についても、「五寸」のように長さで示す例が多く、このままでは検索時に不便である。そこで、こうした物品については頻出するものを中心に「材木」「釘」などの一般的な名称を補う形で入力作業を進めた。こうした作業を通して、これまで大半が未翻刻だった東寺の史料のうち約半数を確認して、記載された建築用語が収集できた。なお、これら史料にのる用語には、現代では使用されない用例が多く含まれていた。このような用例を蓄積できた点は、今回のデータベース入力の成果である。なお、入力したデータについては、HPでの公開を目指して、準備を進めている。今年度のデータベース入力は、東寺百合文書のみであるが、3ヵ年の研究により他の社寺関連史料からも、同様の建築用語の事例が蓄積されつつある。こうした成果により、今後の中世建築用語研究を深化させる道筋をつけられた。
