隠岐島後の基盤岩中に, 新たに典型的なS-type花崗岩を見出し, その産状と岩石学的性質を明らかにした. また飛騨片麻岩に伴うミグマタイト質花崗岩との性質を比較し, 産状は同じでも, 母岩の片麻岩の岩相構成と対応して両者に違いがあることを見出した. これにより, 従来飛騨-隠岐帯として一括されてきたが, 両者は異なる地質体に帰属する可能性が大きいことを示した. また併せて飛騨帯とダルワールクラトンの花崗岩類の温度構造や熱史について比較・検討した.
