平成11年度から19年度の香川県国民健康保険のレセプト情報・死亡状況、平成12年度から19年度の香川県介護保険給付費データを、暗号化された個人コードで突合し時系列的に分析した結果、以下の結果を得た。(1) H11年度に高血圧で受診した者の約78%は5年後も高血圧で受診し、さらに脳梗塞や腎不全でも受診が多くなっていた(2) 年齢階級別受診状況が変わらないと仮定して算出した生涯医療費は、男女とも2000万円を超えており、県内17市町別では相当な格差があった(3) 要支援1・2、要介護1は高血圧や筋骨格系疾患で受診していたが、要介護度が上がるにしたがって脳血管疾患での受診が増加し、特に女性では認知症での受診が激増していた
