本研究は建築計画的な視点から構造化手法を導入した支援環境の空間的様相を明らかにし、自閉症者が理解可能で意味のある環境を構築する支援のあり方を明らかにすることを目的とする。<研究実績の概要>(19年4月1日〜20年3月31まで)19年度は以下の3つの調査を行った。(1)構造化を先駆的に導入している熊本の発達障害支援センターにおける調査。(2)構造化を導入したグループホーム(札幌市)と導入していないグループホーム(熊本市)の比較調査、(3)構造化およびユニットケアを導入した大規模入所施設(大阪市)と導入していない大規模入所施設(熊本市)の比較調査。【自閉症児の療育環境に関する本調査】(1)発達障害支援センター(熊本市):スタッフの行動観察調査、入居者の行動観察調査これらの行動観察調査おいては申請者による直接観察とともに、スタッフおよび入居者の行動をビデオカメラで記録して、調査後にパソコン上で編集して場面(シーン)ごとの支援のタイミングやコミュニケーションの様子をできる限り詳細に把握した(2年目)。【自閉症者の支援環境に対して構造化およびユニットケアの導入がおよぼす影響に関する調査】(2)構造化を導入したグループホーム(札幌市)と導入していないグループホーム(熊本市)(3)構造化・ユニットケアを導入した大規模入所施設(大阪市)と導入していない入所施設(熊本市)基礎調査(A:スタッフへのインタビュー調査.B:プテン採取、家具の状況、C:構造化(物理的構造化・視覚的構造化・日課のスケジュール、作業システム))の後、本調査としてスタッフの行動観察調査、入居者の行動観察調査を終日行い、1分間隔毎に記録した。これら(1)〜(3)の調査の成果はいずれも2008年9月に広島大学で開催される日本建築学会大会で報告する予定であり(登録済み)、近日中に論文にまとめる予定である。また、これまでの研究成果をまとめたものとして、The 38th Conference of Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA38) in Sacramento, U.S.A (2007年6月)において"Study on the Individualized Supports Through the Structured Teaching in a Workshop for People with Intellectual Disabilities."と題して学会発表を行った。
