项目摘要

ここ二年の研究成果を踏まえた上で、1.遵法義務論の土台となってきた『クリトン』の議論構造の再考を継続しつつ、ソクラテスの遵法義務論の理論的根拠として先行研究者によって都合よく解釈されてきた『ヒッピアス(大)』の議論構造を再考した。そして当対話篇で行われている議論は、『クリトン』や『ソクラテスの弁明』などで描かれるような特定の状況に適用することが出来ない原理的なものであることを確認し、他方、ソクラテスの法に関する基本主張が、ソフィストのそれと著しい対比をなし、かつ彼の吟味・探究(エレンコス)の根幹をなすことを明らかにした(研究発表欄における学会発表と書評がこの研究を示す)。これらの考察は、ソクラテスにとって「法とは何か」を考える際の土台となるものであり、また近世以降の義務論、帰結主義に対する、古代の徳倫理学の立場で法を考察する上での足場を築くものである。2.ソクラテスの法や正義に関する倫理的な探究は、プラ・トンの中期対話篇『国家』において「善のイデア」/イデア論という思想的基盤を得て継承、継続される。『国家』のテキスト精読と先行研究の整理・批判的検討を通じて、法や正義に関する思想は、形而上学的観点からどのような仕方で把握されるのかという問題に取り組んだ。倫理学と形而上学との関係性を押さえた上で、「個人の正義」と「国家の正義」はいかにして記述されうるのかを考察した成果(研究発表欄における図書がこの研究を示す)は、プラトン・ソクラテスの哲学・倫理学だけでなく、米国のネオコンの思想的基盤としてプラトン『国家』が挙げられる昨今、現代政治学・倫理学上の問題を浮彫りにするという点でも有益であると思われる。
