本研究課題は、1920年代から30年代におけるソヴィエト社会の「文学場」を分析することによって、ブルガーコフの創作活動を社会との関わりの中で明らかにしようとするものである。平成22年度は、ソヴィエト社会の「文学場」の中でも、特に1920年代から30年代に多数出版された反宗教的テーマに関する文学作品や研究書、また大衆雑誌について、ロシア国立図書館とロシア国立公共歴史図書館で重点的に調査した。そして、ブルガーコフ作品(『運命の卵』『逃亡』『偽善者たちのカバラ(モリエール)』『バトゥーム』『巨匠とマルガリータ』)に頻繁に登場する否定的形象としての聖職者像について、ヨーロッパやロシアにおける聖職者批判の文学的系譜を整理した上で、歴史的、社会的、文化的コンテクストの中で分析した。その結果明らかになったことは、当時のソヴィエト社会における文化的「正統性」、すなわち、聖職者批判の言説や、17世紀フランスの劇作家モリエールが無神論者と結び付けられて広く受容されていたという実態をブルガーコフが戦略的に所有化することによって、作家自身のハビトゥスであるキリスト教的世界観に創造的変容がもたらされた点である。特に、ブルガーコフ独自の善悪二元論と人間としてのイエス像という特殊なキリスト教的世界観が形成された背景については、作家に影響を与えたと考えられるレフ・トルストイの反教会的な宗教思想の観点からも検証した。以上の研究成果を、熊本学園大学で開催された第60回日本ロシア文学会研究発表会で報告した。現在、学会での発表原稿を元に論文を執筆中であり、今後は学会誌等への投稿を予定している。その他、今年度行った翻訳として、著名なブルガーコフ研究者ボリス・ソコロフの論考「ミハイル・ブルガーコフとグスタフ・マイリンク(後編)」の邦訳を『季刊iichiko』第106号に発表した。また、『プルガーコフ作品集』(共訳、文化科学高等研究院出版局)の出版に際して、未邦訳の4作品の翻訳と年譜の作成を行った。
