项目摘要

1、『ペルシア史』の訳注。研究者(阿部)は、小アジア出身のギリシア語史家クテシアスの研究をおこなった。クテシアスの主著は『ペルシア史』と『インド誌』である。クテシアスの著作は多くの断片的言及のかたちで現在にまで伝わっているが、これまで日本においては専門的な訳注が存在しなかった。クテシアス断片史料集の核をなすのは、クテシアスよりはるか後の人、ビザンツ時代の学者フォティオスの手による摘要であるが、研究者は『ペルシア史』にかかわる摘要の後半部(アルタクセルクセス1世からアルタクセルクセス2世の治世まで)に訳注を付し、学会誌に発表した。これは中期ペルシア帝国期にかんする現存するほぼ唯一の同時代ナラティヴ史料であり、広く学界に資するところになると思われる。2、『ペルシア史』の内容にかんする研究。上述のように、クテシアスの『ペルシア史』には、中期ペルシア帝国史にかんする唯一のナラティヴ史料としての価値がある。しかし一方で、叙述内容をめぐっては、王族女性や宮廷宦官の暗躍が必要以上に目立っていることから、フィクショナルな作品として史料価値が低く見られることもある。研究者(阿部)は昨年度の研究から、クテシアスはペルシア宮廷の限られた空間でのみ活動を許されていたと結論した。そして、王女女性や宮廷宦官の頻出は、このような彼の立場から見ればむしろ当然の結果であり、けっしてフィクショナルな作品として退けられるべきではないと結論し、学会誌に発表する予定である。
