在宅療養をする子どもの家族のケアの困難さ、両親の育児内容、災害時の不安、学校教育、家族が望む地域支援に関する最終調査票を作成し調査した。母親は、医療・看護の質の向上、施設の拡充、医療・教育・家庭間の連携の推進、負担の軽減を願い、災害時、事故時の対処に不安を感じていることが見出され、小児の地域支援システムの構築し、その対策を具体化することが重要であると思われた。
