本研究では,超電導磁気浮上を利用した高感度ねじれ振子を開発し,それを用いて,0.1Hz付近の低周波数の重力波探査観測を行った.このような方式での重力波観測は他に例がない独自の研究である.また,本研究により,超電導磁気浮上による捩じれ振り子が,従来のワイヤーによるものと同等の性能を持つことが示された.
