ルーメン内セルロース分解を効率化するためには、その分子メカニズムについて詳細に理解する必要がある。本研究ではルーメン内でセルロース分解に関与するタンパク質(CBPs)を網羅的に同定することを目的とした。ルーメン内CBPsとしてFibrobacter succinogenesのEndoglucanase F、TPR domain protein、OmpA family protein、Fibro-slim domain protein、Piromyces equiのCel6Aが同定された。ルーメン内セルロース付着菌のメタゲノム解析を行った。ルーメンからセルロースに付着する菌を採取し、ゲノムDNAを抽出後、次世代シーケンサーによる解析を行った。F. succinogenesなどの繊維分解菌由来のDNAと相同性の高いDNAが多数検出された。
