项目摘要

東南アジア地域の先住民社会に関する研究は,これまで地理学,人類学,社会学,開発経済学などの分野で多くの蓄積があるが,そうした分野における農村人口の移動現象については,主に2つの見方が主流を占めてきた。つまり,経済的活動を重視する新古典派の立場と,社会的政治的な構造を重視するネオ・マルクス主義的な立場である。しかし,近年の研究で明らかになってきたことは,いずれも農村人口を「定着的」な集団として扱うことを前提としてきたために,移動の本質を見落としてきたという点である。本年度は,こうした定着性を疑問視した近年の研究動向を整理しなおすことで,従来の移民研究migration studiesに対して,別の視点,つまり流動性mobilityを研究対象とする地理学的視点の必要性を明確にする作業を行った。また,流動性への着目は,従来の都市や農村といった地域概念の再考を必要とすることも明らかにした。現地調査としては,これまで筆者が行ってきたボルネオ島の焼畑民と比較を行うために,ラオス北部の焼畑民の集落をいくつか訪れた。また,東南アジアの島嶼部と大陸部における人々の移動形態の比較の視点を見出そうとした。これらの成果を,東南アジア関係のワークショップや研究会で発表すると同時に,査読付き地理学雑誌への投稿を行った。

The study of the relationship between the Southeast Asian region and the indigenous society is based on geography, anthropology, sociology, and development economics. The neoclassical position is emphasized in the activities of the society, and the political structure of the society is emphasized in the position of the neoclassical position. In recent years, the study of the rural population has been carried out in a fixed way. This year, we will review the research trends in recent years and clarify the necessity of migration studies from different perspectives, mobility and geography. A reexamination of the concept of geographical mobility in urban and rural areas is necessary. In the field investigation, the author conducted a survey of the population of the island and compared it with the population of the northern part of the island. A comparison of the movement patterns of people in the southeast and the mainland is presented. The results of this study were published in the Southeast Asian Journal of Geosciences.
