In Vietnam and Cambodia, community participation plays an important role in the development of basic education. Mass organizations support socialization of education in Vietnam. In Cambodia, Buddhist temple, as a core of community, plays a central role in social development including primary education. International cooperation based on holistic approach for early childhood development is effective for the improvement of basic education.
