生体高分子複合体を極めて細い溝の中を高速で流すことにより配向させる新たな方法(マイクロ流動配向法)を開発し、偏光顕微ラマン分光法と組み合わせることにより、生体高分子複合体の構造解析のための新しい測定法の開発を行うことを目的とし、そのための技術的な諸問題の検討と解決を行い、必要な装置のプロトタイプを作製した。その結果、この新規構造解析法を実用化できる見通しが立った。
