ヒト腎の問題点は診断マーカーが存在しないため画像以外には早期診断が難しいこと、また転移の早期発見が難しく転移癌への有効な治療法が存在しないことである。そのためヒトDNAメチル化マーカーと血清マーカーの開発を検討した。その結果血清マーカーHIG2, TMEM22などの有用性を検討し明らかにした。またmethylated DAN marker HOXb13などを中心にメチル化DNAマーカーについても蛋白の発現誘導実験を行い、新しいマーカーの存在を検討した。
