2008年、マオイストことネパール共産党(毛派)が政権を担い、王制から共和制に変革したネパールにおいて、人民戦争をはじめとするマオイスト運動が地域社会や民族/カースト諸団体に与えた影響を現地調査に基づいて研究した。マオイストが主張する共和制、世俗国家、包摂・参加の政治、連邦制の実現という新生ネパールの構想が、大勢では変化と平和を求める人びとから支持されたが、事例研究からその実態は一様ではないことが明らかになった。
