The conservative revolution in the former period represented by Hofmannsthal, who considered the Holy Roman Empire an ideal multiracial society, seems to have had no political influence at that time and may have no meaning now. The concept proposed by Thomas Mann in the latter period, that society should change from German socialism into a democracy according to the circumstances of the time, also might appear unprincipled. That notwithstanding, the images of an ideal citizen exemplified in the term "conservative revolution," which both authors used, are still alive in the concept of multiracial nations and democracy in modern-day European nations.

前一时期以霍夫曼斯塔尔为代表的保守主义革命，他认为神圣罗马帝国是一个理想的多种族社会，在当时似乎没有任何政治影响力，现在可能也没有任何意义。托马斯·曼在后一时期提出的概念，即德国社会主义应当根据当时的情况而转变为民主社会，也可能是无原则的。尽管如此，两位作者所使用的“保守革命”一词中所体现的理想公民的形象，在现代欧洲国家的多种族国家和民主的概念中仍然存在。
