本研究は、2006年に制度化された地域密着型サービスの普及と伴って、地域の固有条件(地理的特性、人的資源、世帯状況)を尊重した介護と生活の関係性が模索されるとの理解にたち、(1)住民参加型小規模多機能型居宅介護の地域への馴染みに関する調査、(2)都市部における小規模多機能型居宅介護と運営特性と地域居住に関する調査、(3)農村集落に住む高齢者住民と耕地が果たす拠点的役割に関する調査、を通じて、高齢者のすまいと活動拠点のあり方を探った。
