ヘパリン結合性の成長因子であるミッドカインの受容体は細胞膜分子の複合体であることが判明している。オリゴデンドロサイト前駆体様細胞CG-4のミッドカイン依存性突起伸張にかかわる受容体であるneuroglycan Cもやはりインテグリンを含む複合体で作用し、複合体形成はミッドカインによって促進された。ミッドカイン受容体複合体の新成分候補としてニューロピリン1が見出された。ALKキナーゼも受容体複合体にリクルートされて作用すると示唆された。
