ヒトグレリンプロモーターのコントール下にヒトジフテリアトキシン受容体を発現するトランスジェニックマウスの作成に成功した。このトランスジェニックマウスは、ジフテリアトキシン受容体を胃・十二指腸で発現しており、ジフテリアトキシン投与によってグレリン分泌細胞が減少し、血中グレリン濃度が低下することが確認できた。生後の随意の時期に循環血中グレリンを低下させうるマウスの開発に成功した。このマウスは、グレリンの生理作用を検討する上で重要なモデルマウスである。
