项目摘要

本研究のテーマ「平安時代物語文学における王権の多極構造について」は、宮廷を中心とする当時の社会を考える上で、また、物語内の世界のあり方、さらに時代を超越した外部王権への影響を鑑みるに、文学・歴史・文化研究の分野に跨る重要なテーマの一つと言える。研究者は、これまで『源氏物語』を中心に上記の課題に取り組んできたが、当研究ではその射程を広げ、当該年度は『うつほ物語』の王権考察を中心に研究を進めた。『うつほ物語』国譲巻では、源藤二氏の立坊争いが描かれるが、この政治抗争の論理について、平安初期の思想を考える上で重要な「孝」をもとに、考察を行った。その成果は、中古文学会秋季大会(2007年10月7日於山形大学小白川キャンパス教養教育二号館)で報告し、現在、論文化の準備を進めている。また、『源氏物語』・『うつほ物語』・『狭衣物語』の王権構造を比べる試みとして、王権の構成要員である皇后に注目する論考(「皇后・中宮・女御・更衣-物語文学を中心に-」日向一雅編『王朝文学と官職と位階』〈平安文学と隣接諸学4〉竹林舎、2008年5月)を発表した。この論考は、歴史学研究者を中心とする研究会・王権研究会第14回例会(2007年7月7日於専修大学神田校舎1号館8-C会議室)での報告「物語の国母と東宮母-『うつほ物語』と『源氏物語』の場合-」を基にしたものである。また、ここで論じきれなかった問題を、物語研究会4月例会(2008年4月19日、日本大学)にて、「『うつほ物語』の後宮政策-朱雀・今上帝の治世を中心に-」と題して行った。以上、『うつほ物語』の王権考察を中心にしながらも、平安時代物語文学における王権構造について、その構成要員のあり方から、各物語の特徴と連関性を明らかにできたと考える。成果報告の場となった研究会・学会では、分野を越えた議論を交わすことで、次年度への課題も見えてきた。
