Study on Recognition of English Derived Words by Japanese Learners of English

本研究旨在探讨日本英语学习者如何在心理词汇库中储存和加工英语后缀词汇。一项词汇决策任务显示，词根和词缀语义透明和音韵不透明的词汇倾向于作为词根和词缀两个部分进行存储和加工，而词根和词缀语义和音韵不透明的词汇则倾向于作为一个单元进行存储和加工。

This study aims to investigate how Japanese learners of English store and process English suffixed words in their mental lexicon. A lexical decision task revealed that there are tendency that words with semantically and phonologically transparent suffixes are stored and processed as two parts, a base and a suffix, while ones with semantically and phonologically less transparent suffixes are stored and processed as one unit.
