1. ABROAD FIELD SURVEY A. Jirin Province, Inner Mongol Autonomous District and Beijing City. We surveyed the Ajuhada Epigraph on the wall of a cliff in the environs of Jirin City, the ruins of the capital of Yuan Dinasty Shangdou in Qinglan Qi in Inner Mongol Autonomous District, and archaeological sites of Jin Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty in Beijing City. B. Northern Sakharin in Russian Federation We visited museums in Nogliki, Tymovskoe and Aleksandrovsk in Northern Sakhalin and investigated archaeological materials found from archaeological sites in the Medieval Times.2. OPEN FORUM We have held the Open Forum “On the Study of the Nurgan Yongning Epigraph and Interchanges in North-East Asia" in Hakodate Plaza for interchanges among Industry, Sciences and Government Offices on Saturday, Oct. 27 in 2007. 35 persons were assembled together for the Forum, although this theme was not accessible to general publics. Newspaper reporters attended the Open Forum and informed on the study of the Nu … More rgan Yongning Epigraph in the newspapers on the day after. In advance of the Open Forum, unexpectedly the rubbed copy of Nurgan Yongning Epigraph was discovered from the material storehouse of Hakodate Municipal Central Library. This copy was opened to the general publics at the Open Forum by courtesy of Director of Hakodate Municipal Museum HASEBE Kazuhiro.3. PUBLICATIONS We have issued two books as publications of the results of researches on the study of the Epigraph Nurgan Yongning Temple in Feb. in 2008. The first is a Japanese translation of the Russian book “The Buddhist Temple in the Lower Amur in 15th century" written by A. R. Artemiev. A translation is performed by a translater KAKIUCHI Ato under the supervision by KIKUCHI and NAKAMURA. This book is issued by Hokkaido University Press Apr. 10 in 2008. The second is the publication of the International Symposium “On the Study of the Nurgan Yongning Epigraph and North-East Asia in the medieval ages" held in Hokkaido University Nov. 12 in 2005. This one is compiled by KIKUCHI and NAKAMURA under the title “Medieval North-East Asia and the Ainu people - the Epigraph of Nurgan Yongning Temple and the Northern World of the Ainu people".
