项目摘要

本研究テーマの研究実績は、主に以下の3点があげられる:(1) 日本語において近年流行している3拍愛称語に関する記述・理論両面での研究 (2) ニュージーランド英語の愛称語形成に関する初期調査 (3) 短縮語形成に隣接する現象の理論研究。まず (1) に関して述べる。日本語において近年流行している3拍の愛称語形成パターンに関して記述的一般化及び理論解釈を与えた。記述的一般化としては、3拍愛称語は [軽音節＋重音節] の構造を忌避することを明らかにした。理論解釈としては、回帰韻脚 (recursive foot) を想定することで体系的な説明が与えられることを明らかにした。なお [軽音節＋重音節] という構造を回避する現象は日本語の音韻体系で広く観察されるため、本理論分析は他の現象にも適用できると考えている。次に (2) について述べる。ニュージーランドにおいて愛称語形成の初期調査を行った。今年度は短期間の調査であったため、地名の短縮パターンの記述のみに留まった。地名短縮には英語において珍しい短縮パターン (3音節のパターンや強弱韻脚のパターン) が存在することがわかった。今後は人名の短縮や内容語の短縮に射程を広げ、研究を深めていく必要がある。最後に (3) に関して述べる。音韻理論一般に関わる問題として、最適性理論 (Optimality Theory) の2つのモデル (Harmonic Serialism・Turbid OT) の長所と短所について議論を行った。英語の強勢に見られる不透明性とマオリ語の畳語形成の分析を通して両モデルの長所と短所を議論した。最適性理論には様々な変種が提唱されているため、各モデルの比較には大きな意義がある。以上の3つの研究成果により、短縮語形成の特性 (普遍性・多様性・他の音韻特性との関連) を記述・理論両面から多角的に明らかにした。

The results of this study are summarized as follows:(1) A theoretical study on the relationship between Japanese acronyms and their popularity in recent years;(2) An initial investigation on the relationship between Japanese acronyms and English acronyms;(3) A theoretical study on the contiguity phenomenon in the formation of acronyms.まず (1) に関して述べる。The Japanese language has become popular in recent years, and the Japanese language has become popular in recent years. English is a language of great strength and opacity. The theory of optimality is based on the comparison of different species. The characteristics of abbreviated language formation (universality, diversity, other phonological characteristics and correlation) are described in the above three research results.
