2016年度は、計画どおり、『南部英語聖人伝』と同時代の聖人伝コレクションの全体像の把握とそれに基づく中世写本の調査を行った。国内で、それぞれの作品の写本のカタログ、ファクシミリを参照したのち、校訂テクストや二次資料を用いて、作品の内容、成り立ち、読者層や実際の受容などの特徴をおさえた。その後、夏季休暇中に、イギリス各地の国立図書館・大学図書館で、『南部英語聖人伝』を中心とする中世写本の調査と転写を行った。ボドレー図書館（オクスフォード）では、本研究の主要なコーパスのひとつである写本の全フォリオを撮影し調査した。ウェールズ国立図書館（Aberystwyth）では、断片写本の転写を行い、未刊行の行の調査を行った。また、滞在中に、ロンドン大学の中世写本や聖人伝を専門にする複数の研究者と面会し、研究課題の遂行に関して、具体的には、特定の聖人伝や写本に関する助言を受けた。国内学の発表に関しては、2016年4月にスイス・ローザンヌ大学で行われた国際学会Late Medieval Devotional Compilations in Englandでは、研究の主要コーパスである『南部英語聖人伝』写本一点の編纂に関する研究発表をし、12月には、関西大学で開催された日本英語英文学会全国大会で研究課題全体に関するポスター発表をし、2017年3月には、オーストリア科学アカデミー・中世研究所で行われた国際学会The XI Cardiff Conference on the Theory and Practice of Translation in the Middle Agesで、対象写本に収められた聖人の移葬（translatio）に関する研究発表を行った。
