本研究は、唐代都城が西域シルクロードにどのように展開したのか、を発掘された遺構、あるいは地表面に現存する遺構の衛星画像の分析から考究することを目的とする。具体的にはキルギス共和国に位置する唐砕葉城（アク・ベシム遺跡）の測量・GPR調査を踏まえて、北庭故城・交河故城・高昌故城と比較してその構造を位置付けると同時に、唐長安城・洛陽城と比較する計画である。本研究課題は、当初2020年度までを予定していたが、2019年度から始まった世界的なコロナ禍の影響を受けて、キルギス共和国・中国での国外調査が実施できなくなったことによって、大幅に研究計画を変更せざるを得ない状況となった。国外調査が実施できないため、国内における分析や研究の総括に主体を置くことにした。2021年９月30日には、早稲田大学東アジア都城・シルクロード考古学研究所の調査研究報告第５冊として『唐代都城の空間構造とその展開』（国際共同研究加速基金による発刊）を刊行した。なお、本研究の中心的課題である西域都市の考古学的分析成果については、上記報告書の中で「唐砕葉城の歴史的位置－都城の空間構造と瓦の製作技法に注目して－」と題した論文（総数60頁）を刊行しており、コロナ禍においても中国・日本のzoomを用いたオンライン学会で発表をしており、研究成果の発信は継続できている。ただし、中国・中央アジアのフィールドで活動できない点は研究に大きな影響を与えており、2020～2022年度まで全く国外出張が出来ない状態が続いたため、やむを得ず2023年度までの延期を申請して了承を得た。

This study aims to explore the satellite images of the ancient structures of the Tang Dynasty. The detailed survey of the location of the Republic of China, the ancient city of Beiting, the ancient city of Jiaohe, the ancient city of Gaochang, and the comparative plan of the location of the structure of the Republic of China, the city of Chang 'an, the city of Luoyang. This research topic is based on the impact of disasters on the world from the beginning of 2020 to the beginning of 2019, and the impact of foreign investigations on the Republic of China, China and other countries. Foreign investigations are carried out in China, and domestic analysis and research are carried out in China. On September 30, 2021, the fifth volume of the research report of the Institute of Archaeology of Waseda University,"Spatial Structure and Development of the Capital City of Tang Dynasty"(published by the International Joint Research Acceleration Fund) was published. The central topic of this research is the archaeological analysis of the cities of the Western Regions. In the report above,"The location of the history of the Tang Dynasty-the spatial structure of the capital city and the techniques of making tiles" is published. The paper (60 pages) is published in China and Japan. China·Central government's activities have a great impact on research, and from 2020 to 2022, all foreign countries have a status of extension, and the application for extension in 2023 has been obtained.
