本研究は小児OSA(閉塞性睡眠時無呼吸症)の中でも、その周術期気道管理上のリスクが最も高いと考えられる先天性顎顔面形態異常合併患者を対象とするものである。前年度の研究成果として、同じ顎顔面形態異常症例でも、その周術期気道管理は症例によって大きな違いがあることが判明していた。この成果をもとに、最終年度では、我々が注目している酸化ストレスマーカーを中心とした各種バイオマーカー測定を周術期のどのようなタイミングや条件で行うかを慎重に検討した研究プロトコールの考案を行った。公表に至った最終年度の研究成果として、前年度に引き続き、対象となり得る患児の周術期管理の実際の把握と、これまで蓄積した経験症例の整理を行い、文献的な考察も加えて国内関連雑誌（症例カンファレンス: 小児の扁桃摘出術, LiSA 2018年8月号, メディカル・サイエンス・インターナショナル）への投稿および、国内関連学会における発表報告（困難気道の抜管, 日本小児麻酔学会24回大会, 2018年10月 神戸）を行った。未公表の研究成果としては、前出の学会発表報告の内容を論文にし、査読のある関連雑誌に投稿する準備を進めている。他の成果としては、我々が注目する各種バイオマーカー測定のために必要な機器の確認準備をすすめると同時に、Euroanaethesia 2018（2018年6月、コペンハーゲン)等国内外の学術集会に参加し、この領域の最新知見の収集を行った。
