網膜血管の傷害される疾患の病態として、血管透過性亢進、血管新生があり、その病態はサイトカインネットワークの作用により制御される。生体眼での状態に似た環境での細胞の制御メカニズムを検証するために、硝子体由来細胞の存在下で炎症性サイトカインによる刺激をした網膜血管内皮細胞の細胞生物学的な変化をヒト網膜血管内皮細胞とブタ硝子体由来細胞の共培養系を用いて検討した。その結果、ベバシズマブ、フェノフィブリン酸、デキサメタゾンによる血管内皮細胞の増殖抑制効果を減少させることが認められたことから、生体内では治療薬の効果がin vitro に比較して減少する可能性も示唆された。今後の治療薬開発に際して注意すべきと考える。
